Frequently Asked Questions

Click the below mostly frequently asked questions to get your answers.

1.Is Homoeopathy a proved science ?

Surely it is! This is the only science where medicinal action is derived by proving it on human beings in healthy state first than on animals. It has also been proved recently in 2010 scientifically by IIT-B students that Homoeopathic medicines work on the principles of Nanotechnology.

2. Is Homoeopathy a placebo response ?

Not at all. In the past, lack of convincing scientific evidence supporting its efficacy and use of remedies without its principle ingredients led others to believe that this is a placebo effect. But, after discovery of nanotechnology (which form the basis of homoeopathic drugs in dilutions), this is no more a reality now.

3. Are all homoeopathic drugs are same? Is same drug used for different people suffering from same diseases?

This is not true. Homeopathic medicines are dispensed through vehicles in form of pills or liquid which though appear same to all, the medicines or liquid put inside these vehicles are different for different patients.

4. Is Homoeopathic treatment to be continued for a longer time ?

The duration of Homoepathic treatment depends on many factors like stage of the disease, past treatments taken for the same, and natural capacity of the patient's dynamic power to fight against disease. It does not just act on external symptoms and remove it, but it first acts on the root cause of the disease internally. Therefore, it may appear as if it's a long process, but rather it is fast in the sense that it removes the disease in toto.

5. Does Homoeopathy take a long time to act or is it a slow process?

Hom. medicine acts in just few minutes to hours. In acute diseases, it shows its results in just few hours. In chronic diseases, it may take time to show efficacy due to many reasons. The other fact is that we do not have specific medicines for symptoms. E.g. we do not have analgesics for pain. The symptoms subside only if it is cured from its internal diseased state. So, patients feel that it is very slow, but actually it is acting at the imbalanced interior first and thereby removing symptoms.

6. Does Homoeopathic medicines contain steroids ?

Our medicines when correctly chosen work on a dynamic plane and increase the immune power satisfactorily instantly especially in acute conditions, that people feel as if we use steroids. If it would have contained steroids, then patients would start developing side effects of taking steroids over the period of time, e.g. abnormal weight gain due to swelling throughout the body, excessive strength, hyperacidity, excessive unwanted hair, osteoporosis etc. The medicines can be tested in any lab for steroids by UV absorption test which is the specific test for pure steroid, and not steroid like component i.e. lactose which is the base of Homoeopathic drugs.

7. Can Homoeopathic treatment be started while already on other mode of treatment ?

It can definitely be started depending on what kind of treatment the patient is already on and its interference with Homoeopathic drugs.

8. Are there many restrictions (Do's and Don'ts) while on Homoeopathic treatments ?

Not many. There are few restrictions in terms of things which would nullify Homoeopathic drugs action. Specifically, these are to avoid local applications, camphor, menthol, and very strong odorous or medicated products.

VERY SAFE. The medicines do not have any side effects, so it can safely be given in pregnancy or infancy. In fact, it is more beneficial during pregnancy as it helps the fetus also to have better immunity power.

10. Why does it take a long time for the first consultation ?

Homoeopathy treats the man in disease and not disease in man. We treat diseased individuals and not only diseases. It works on the basis of individualization wherein we need to find out every minute detail physically and mentally of the patient to make him/her different than others. The disease occurs only when there is imbalance between mind, body, and soul. Therefore, it is very important to find out this imbalance by detailed case taking. Also, there are no specific medicines for specific diseases. We have to find out one single remedy for any disease from the wide range of over 3500 drugs. For this reason, we ask questions which sound silly or irrelevant to the patients.

11. Why do homoeopaths dispense medicines from their own clinic and do not reveal the name of medicines ?

It is not disclosed for the benefit of the patient as unnecessary consumption of medicines make the disease course complicated from a treatment point of view. Therefore to avoid misuse or abuse of medicine intake, the remedy name is divulged. Also, there are different remedies in different people suffering from same disease. So, one medicine in one patient suffering from one disease cannot do any benefit to other patient suffering from the same disease.

12. Does Homoeopathy believe in disease diagnosis and pathological investigation ?

Of course Yes. Without knowing the diagnosis, the disease cannot be treated effectively. It helps in selection of remedy and future course of the treatment. Serial investigation is also required in some cases for prognosis and progress of the disease.

However, in few cases it has limitations

  • where the disease has gross structural and pathological changes eg advanced cancer with metastasis orwhere the disease has gross structural and pathological changes eg advanced cancer with metastasis or
